Google Business Profile
Connect your Google Business Profile
Link your Google Business Profile so SearchOps can read its performance, track changes, reply to reviews and post on your behalf.
On this page
Connecting your Google Business Profile unlocks the tools that work directly with your listing: Performance numbers, Changes and results, posting updates, and replying to reviews. Reviews from a connected profile also sync automatically without using your review checks. You connect once with Google, and SearchOps keeps the data in sync.
What you'll need
- A Google account with owner or manager access to the listing.
- A paid plan. Profile connections are included from Starter upward.
Connect a profile
- Open Google Business Manager > Profiles in the sidebar.
- Select Connect Google Business Profile (or Connect Google if you already have a profile connected).
- Sign in with the Google account that manages the listing and approve the access SearchOps requests.
- You are returned to SearchOps, which discovers every profile and location that account manages.
- Every listing that account manages is added, up to your plan's limit. For each one, link it to an existing SearchOps location, create a new location from it, or remove it if you don't want it here. When several listings exactly match your locations, select Bind all to link them in one go.
Important: You must sign in with an account that has owner or manager rights on the listing. If you only have view access, ask the owner to grant you a management role, or to connect it themselves.
Profiles and locations
It helps to know the difference:
- A profile is the Google listing you connect through your Google account.
- A location is the SearchOps record you scan and track.
Each profile links to one location, so your audits, reviews, and rankings all line up under the same business.
What you get once connected
- Performance: the calls, direction requests, website clicks and views Google reports for the listing.
- Changes and results: every change to the listing, and what happened in the weeks around it.
- Posting updates straight to your listing.
- Replies to reviews, with Google reviews syncing automatically.
A profile audit doesn't need a connection: you can audit any location with a Google Place ID.
Limits and plans
How many profiles you can connect depends on your plan. See How many profiles can I connect?.
Troubleshooting
- A listing is missing after connecting: check you signed in with the Google account that manages it, and that you are an owner or manager rather than view-only. Your plan's connected-profile limit also applies: once it is reached, further listings are not added. A listing marked Needs verification in Google has been added, but Google holds back its posts, performance numbers and reviews until you verify it at business.google.com.
- The connection didn't complete: SearchOps takes you to Google's sign-in page and back. If you cancelled or the link expired, you will see Connection didn't complete; start again from Google Business Manager > Profiles. You can disconnect or reconnect a profile at any time in Settings > Connected Accounts without losing your other SearchOps data.
Note: SearchOps requests Google's business management permission so it can read your profile, pull reviews, and post on your behalf when you ask it to.
Next steps
- Read what the listing brings in: Read your Google Business Profile performance.
- Start handling reviews: Monitor and reply to reviews.
