A Search Atlas alternative built only for Google Business Profiles

Search Atlas is an SEO suite for the whole website: OTTO on-site automation, content, site audits, backlinks and press releases, with heatmaps, Business Profile tools and AI visibility alongside. Its plans hold 3, 10, 25 or 100 Business Profiles. If the profiles are the work, it is worth checking how much of a website suite you need to pay for to manage them.

The short answer

SearchOps or Search Atlas?

SearchOps fits if

  • Your clients win or lose on Google Maps, the local pack and AI answers, and you want 25 connected profiles for $99 a month, or 100 for $249.
  • You want AI Overviews and AI Mode checked point by point across the map, beside the Google Maps grid for the same keyword.
  • You change clients' profiles for them and want every edit approved before Google sees it, with an undo afterwards.

Search Atlas fits if

  • You sell website SEO as well, and want OTTO on-site fixes, content, site audits and backlink research in the same tool as your local work.
  • You track Copilot and Perplexity alongside ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode.
  • You want Business Profile posts shared to social accounts, or listings sent to data aggregators, from the same place.

Using both

If you sell website SEO as a separate service, Search Atlas can run the website side while SearchOps runs the Business Profiles, map grids and client reports.

Price the job

The same job, priced both ways

Take an agency looking after 20 client profiles: five keywords each on a 5×5 Google Maps grid every week, posts and review replies on every profile, white-label reports, and more than one person on the account. Change the numbers to price your own work.

Your job

The job also needs
The sum: 20 locations × 5 keywords × 25 points × 4.33 runs a month (52 weeks ÷ 12) = 10,834 Google Maps points a month, rounded up.

SearchOps

$249a month

The Agency plan.

35,000 scan credits a month cover 10,834 points, leaving 24,166 for Google Search or AI Mode grids. Up to 200 locations.

Search Atlas

$399a month

Pro, 13,500 points included, billed monthly.

Search Atlas meters grids in heatmap pins a month (13,500 on Pro, 60,000 on Agency). It sells extra points inside the account without a published price, so a job above a plan's pins is priced on the next plan up; Pro with extra points could cost less.

  • Search Atlas's price also includes its website tools (OTTO, content, site audits and backlinks) and, from Growth up, LLM Visibility. SearchOps' price includes its monthly ChatGPT and Gemini checks, and spare scan credits run Google Search and AI Mode grids.
  • Both are monthly list prices as each company publishes them. Search Atlas's data aggregator submissions are a separate one-off payment and aren't included. SearchOps' annual billing charges 10 months for 12.
  • SearchOps' prices here are the US dollar prices on its pricing page (£29, £79 and £199 a month in pounds). Checkout shows the exact amount in your currency.

What's different

What SearchOps does differently

Built around the profile

Start from the Business Profile, not a website project

In SearchOps each location is a Business Profile and the services it sells. Keywords sit under those services, the profile audit scores about 30 checks for the business and up to five rivals out of 100, and each week every location gets a short plan of profile tasks to work through.

  • Track any business by its Google listing, connected or not
  • The audit scores up to five rivals out of 100
  • A weekly plan of profile tasks for each location

Profile audit against rivals

  • Larkfield Dental Clinic82/100
  • Rival practice A74/100
  • Rival practice B69/100

About 30 checks for the business; rivals are scored on what their public listings show.

Sample business: Larkfield Dental Clinic, Leeds

Google's AI answers on the map

AI Overviews and AI Mode, checked at every grid point

Run a Google Search grid and each point shows whether the business is in the local pack's top three and whether an AI Overview appears and cites it. Run an AI Mode grid and each point shows whether Google's answer names the business. Set them beside a Google Maps grid on the same points and you can see the streets where a client shows on the map but not in the answer.

  • Maps grids up to 21×21, one credit a point
  • Local pack and AI Overview at each point, two credits
  • AI Mode grids up to 9×9 in the US, UK and India, two credits a point

One point on a 7×7 grid

  • Google MapsPosition 3 of the top 20
  • Google SearchIn the local pack's top 3. AI Overview shown, cites the clinic.
  • AI ModeNamed in the answer
Sample business: Larkfield Dental Clinic, Leeds

Allowances you can plan with

ChatGPT and Gemini checks come from their own monthly pool

Every prompt goes to both ChatGPT and Gemini, grouped under the services a business sells, and each answer shows whether the business is named, who is named instead, and the sites it cites. The checks come from their own allowance, separate from the scan credits your grids use, so a heavy month of grids leaves them untouched.

  • 3,000 checks a month on Pro, 6,000 on Agency
  • Separate from scan credits, so grids never use them up
  • Share of voice, and the sites each answer cites

One prompt, two engines

"Which dentist in Leeds can see me today for a broken tooth?"

  • ChatGPTNamedalongside 2 other practices
  • GeminiNot namednames 3 others instead

Sites cited across both answers: the clinic's own site, a review site and a local directory.

Sample business: Larkfield Dental Clinic, Leeds

Profile changes you can take back

Every edit approved before it reaches Google, with an undo

Change hours, categories, services, attributes, service areas, the description or photos from SearchOps. Nothing goes to Google until someone approves it, a published change can be undone, and if the value on Google changed in the meantime the edit is held for you to check first.

  • Nothing reaches Google unapproved
  • Undo a change after it is published
  • Held if Google's value changed first

Published changes keep an Undo.

When Search Atlas fits better

Where Search Atlas is the better choice

Search Atlas covers the website and much of the marketing around it, which SearchOps doesn't set out to do. If that work is part of what you sell, it is the stronger fit.

On-site fixes with OTTO

OTTO SEO makes technical and on-page fixes on the sites you connect: one site on Starter, two on Growth, four on Pro and ten on Agency. SearchOps doesn't change websites.

Content and PR distribution

Search Atlas writes articles and pages, publishes them to your CMS, and runs press releases and digital PR outreach. SearchOps doesn't write website content or distribute press releases.

Site audits and backlink research

Its Site Auditor crawls up to 10,000 pages a site on Starter, Growth and Pro and 100,000 on Agency, and its backlink tools compare referring domains and link gaps with competitors. SearchOps doesn't audit websites.

More AI engines

Pro and Agency track Copilot and Perplexity as well as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode. SearchOps tracks ChatGPT and Gemini by prompt, and AI Overviews and AI Mode on its map grids.

Social cross-posting

Search Atlas connects social accounts and shares Business Profile posts to them automatically, on every plan. SearchOps posts to Business Profiles only.

Switching

Moving from Search Atlas

A move is mostly setup: your locations, keywords and grid settings, the profiles you manage, and the automations already running on them.

  1. 01

    Note your heatmap settings

For each client, write down the keywords, grid shape, radius and refresh schedule from Local SEO Heatmaps, and export any heatmaps you want to keep for client reports. They are your before picture.

  2. 02

    Add your locations

Upload them to SearchOps as a CSV file. Each one is matched to its Google listing.

  3. 03

    Import keywords by service

Paste them, or import them from Excel or CSV, grouped under the services each business sells.

  4. 04

    Connect the profiles you manage

Sign in with Google to connect them. Tracking a rival or a prospect doesn't need a connection.

  5. 05

Hand over one automation at a time

If GBP Galactic posts or replies to reviews automatically for a profile, switch that off there before you turn on posting or auto-replies in SearchOps, so no review gets two replies.

  6. 06

Compare trends for one reporting cycle

Search Atlas grids are circles or rectangles set by a radius in miles; SearchOps grids are square and set by the distance across in kilometres. Choose a SearchOps grid that covers about the same area, run both for one cycle, and compare the trend rather than single points.

FAQ

SearchOps and Search Atlas. Questions we get

For Business Profile work, usually. SearchOps Pro holds 25 connected profiles for $99 a month, where Search Atlas Pro holds 25 for $399, and SearchOps Agency holds 100 for $249, where Search Atlas Agency holds 100 from $999. Our example job, 20 profiles with five keywords on a weekly 5×5 grid, white-label reports and a team, needs 10,834 heatmap pins a month, inside Search Atlas Pro's 13,500: $399 a month there, against $249 on SearchOps Agency. On a 7×7 grid the same job needs 21,234 pins, more than Pro includes, and Search Atlas doesn't publish the price of extra points. SearchOps costs more in one case: a team of two or three on up to 10 profiles, without white-label and within Growth's 5,400 heatmap pins a month, pays $199 on Search Atlas Growth and $249 on SearchOps Agency, because SearchOps Pro is for one user. Search Atlas's price also covers its website tools. Prices checked on 25 October 2026.

Yes. Upload your locations as a CSV file and import keywords from Excel, CSV or a paste, grouped under each business's services. Then connect the Business Profiles you manage with a Google sign-in and set your grid schedules. Heatmap history doesn't move between tools, so export any Search Atlas heatmaps you want to keep for client reports.

No. SearchOps works on Google Business Profiles, map grids, AI answers, reviews and listings. It doesn't change websites, write site content or audit pages; for a client's own site it reads Google Search Console. If on-site work is part of your service, keep a website tool such as Search Atlas for that side.

SearchOps tracks ChatGPT and Gemini by prompt, and AI Overviews and AI Mode across its map grids. Search Atlas's LLM Visibility covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode from the Growth plan, and adds Copilot and Perplexity on Pro and Agency; the Pro plan card also lists Claude. It isn't part of Search Atlas Starter.

Universal Credits are Search Atlas's monthly budget for actions across its platform, from 50,000 on Starter to 1,000,000 or more on Agency, and its plan comparison also sets monthly limits for some features, such as heatmap pins and LLM Visibility credits. SearchOps gives each job its own allowance: scan credits for grids (one a Google Maps point, two on Google Search and AI Mode), a separate pool of ChatGPT and Gemini checks, and set numbers of profile audits and citation checks. Scan credit packs are priced on the pricing page, and grid points that get no answer are refunded.

Search Atlas offers a 7-day trial on Starter and Growth. SearchOps has no open trial. The live demo runs the real product on a sample business, and we set up trials for agencies on request: email info@searchops.co. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time.

On SearchOps, white-label comes with Agency ($249 a month): your logo, colours and a report sub-domain, with unlimited team members. On Search Atlas it starts on Pro ($399 a month), with a branded dashboard and white-label reports for five seats, and the Agency plan adds client portals.

Yes. Google Maps and Google Search grids run anywhere Google Maps covers, and AI Mode grids run in the US, UK and India. SearchOps shows prices in 7 currencies; Search Atlas publishes its prices in US dollars, so this page compares in dollars.
