Citations & Links

One audit checks each branch's listings across the directories that matter for its country and sector, compares every name, address and phone with that branch's own details, and finds new directories through the sites that link to your website. You also see who links to you, which of those sites AI answers rely on, and where competitors are listed and you aren't.

Why it's different

Built for the way local SEO actually works

Checked branch by branch

Every listing is matched to the branch whose details it shows, then its name, address, postcode, phone and website are compared field by field. A listing for your other branch is never counted as this one's, even when the brand name and phone are shared.

The directories that matter for you

A curated directory catalogue for the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand, filtered by country, region and sector, so a clinic is not checked against trade directories. Other countries get the global platforms plus whatever the audit finds locally.

New directories found through your links

The audit reads the sites that link to your website and adds the directories among them, including ones outside the standard list for your sector, then checks the strongest of them for your details.

A fix list, not a report

Wrong details and missing listings become tasks for the branch, ordered by how much the directory matters. Confirm a listing yourself with one click, and the next audit closes what you fixed.

Why this matters

Consistency, not quantity

Google and the AI assistants piece your business together from many sources. When directories disagree about your phone number or address, that picture gets less certain, and customers who find the old details may not reach you. Adding more and more listings matters far less than keeping the ones you have right.

  • Per-field comparison catches issues a name-only or phone-only check would miss
  • Country and sector directories are checked first, the long tail only where it links to you
  • Phone numbers change, addresses move and names update, so listings drift over time
  • Multi-branch brands see each branch's listings separately, with its own score

What one audit covers

Citations and links in a single run

Run the audit on a website and it covers every branch that uses it. It reads the website's links once, then checks each branch's citations from that same data, so nothing is bought twice. Results fill in over a few minutes and the page updates on its own.

  • A citation health score for each branch, and an average for the website
  • Each directory marked verified, wrong details, missing, or worth a look, with the evidence
  • Who links to the website, how strong those sites are, and what the links say
  • Which linking sites the AI answers for your keywords also cite
  • Where your tracked competitors are listed and you aren't

Built into the workflow

From audit result to closed-out fix

Wrong details and missing listings land in Tasks with everything else that needs attention for that branch. Fix the listing on the directory itself, tick the task, and the next audit confirms it. The History tab keeps every audit, so you can show a client the score moving.

  • Tasks ordered by how much the directory matters
  • A Report for every audit, with a CSV export of every result
  • Due for a re-check shown once the last audit is more than 28 days old
  • Nothing runs on its own: you decide when to audit

How it works

Three steps from signup to insight

1

Check each branch's details

Every directory is compared against the name, address, postcode, phone and website on the location, so set those once per branch.

2

Run the audit

Open the website in Citations & Links and click Run audit. Links come back in about a minute, and each branch's citations over the next few minutes.

3

Work through the fixes

Fix wrong or missing listings on each directory, tick them off in Tasks, and re-run the audit next month to confirm.

What it uses

What an audit costs

Audits are included in paid plans and don't use scan credits. Each audit uses one run of your monthly allowance, plus one citation check for each branch on the website. Comparing a competitor's links uses one run and no citation checks.

  • Citation checks a month: Starter 2 · Pro 12 · Agency 25
  • Runs a month: Starter 5 · Pro 20 · Agency 30
  • Enterprise: sized to your contract. A check that fails never counts

FAQ

Citations & Links. Questions we get

The platforms every business needs (Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Facebook), the major cross-country directories, and country-specific directories for the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand. Each one is tagged with the sectors and regions it is relevant for, so a beauty clinic isn't checked against trade directories. Directories found through your links are added on top.

Branches that share a website are audited together, and each listing is tied to the branch whose details it shows. A listing that belongs to another branch is shown as that branch's, never counted against this one, and each branch gets its own health score.

Directories the audit found among the sites that link to your website, including ones outside the standard list for your sector. The strongest are checked for your details automatically. You can confirm a listing as yours, or hide a site that isn't a directory, and your choice sticks.

No. The audit shows what's wrong and where to get listed, and the change is made on each directory's own claim or edit page. Fixing a listing at the source lasts; listings pushed out by a paid syncing service often revert when the subscription stops.

Once a month: each website can be audited once every 28 days, and nothing runs automatically. After you change your name, phone or address, the next audit confirms the change has reached the directories.

Yes. Every audit has a report with a CSV export of every directory result: source, domain, tier, status, listing link and the details found. Useful for client reports and for handing fixes to someone else.
