Tasks
Every tool in SearchOps finds problems. Tasks is where those findings turn into work. Every Monday each location gets a plan of the Business Profile work worth doing that week, sized to the pace you choose, and most of it ticks itself off once Google shows the change. Tasks from your tools show whether the number they were meant to move actually moved.
- 1Connect your profilesSearchOps reads each Business Profile every day, alongside your audits and trackers. What they find becomes specific tasks instead of stopping at the end of a report.
- 2Work the weekEach Monday every location gets its plan. Do it in order in SearchOps, or send it to email, your calendar, Slack or your project tool. Add your own tasks for anything the tools cannot see.
- 3See what movedEach finished task shows the number it was meant to move, before and after, and lands as a marker on your Explore charts.
Why it's different
Built for the way local SEO actually works
A weekly plan, not a backlog
Replies, review requests, posts, photos, holiday hours and profile fixes, planned for each location every Monday at 3, 5 or 8 tasks a week. Send it to email, a calendar, Slack or the project tool your team already uses.
It ticks itself off
Most tasks check themselves from Google's own data: a reply posted, holiday hours set, new photos added. Nobody closes cards for work Google already shows done.
A before and after
Tasks from your tools show the number they were meant to move, when the work started and after it, with a plain verdict: moved the right way, no change, or too early to tell.
Finished work shows up on the charts
Complete a card and it becomes a marker on your Explore charts, so the line that moved is labelled with the work that went in.
The problem it solves
Findings are cheap. Finished work is the thing you get paid for.
An audit that lists 40 issues has not helped anybody yet. Most tools stop there, and the actual list of what to do next ends up in a spreadsheet nobody opens. Tasks is the layer that catches the output of every tool and turns it into a small number of things a person can actually pick up.
- A task is a piece of work, not a finding: it says what to change, why, how to do it step by step and roughly how long it takes
- Each location gets a plan every Monday at the pace you choose. Must-dos, such as a listing Google stopped verifying, always land, and unfinished work carries over
- Most tasks check themselves from Google's own data: a reply posted, holiday hours set, new photos added
- Add your own tasks beside the ones the tools produce, so the plan is the whole job and not just our half of it

Plan your own weekWhere tasks come from
Your profile's own data decides the work, plus anything you add yourself
SearchOps reads each connected Business Profile every day and adds a task only when the data shows the work is not being done. A keyword leaving the map pack is not a task on its own: it shows as a change on your dashboard. When something cannot be read, nothing is guessed.
- Reviews: replies waiting, and a review-request habit with your own review link when new reviews slow down
- Posts, photos, the description and services, read from Google's own copy of the profile
- Holiday hours before each public holiday across the UK, Ireland and the US
- Google profile audit fixes, edits Google or someone else made to your listing, and complaints that keep coming up in reviews
- AI answers that give the wrong website for you, or name you without linking to you
- Playbooks load their steps onto the plan in order, and ticking a step off writes back to the play
Read from the profile's reviews every day. A task is added only when the data shows the work isn't being done.
- Reply to every new Google review
3 Google reviews from the last 30 days have no reply.
Checks itself from Google each week.
- Deal with the complaints about "Waiting and appointments"
It came up in 4 unhappy reviews over the last 90 days.
You tick this off, then reviews are watched for 90 days.

Plan your own weekWhere the plan goes
Work the plan in SearchOps, or wherever your team already works
Send each location's plan where you work: a Monday email, a private calendar link, a CSV for Asana, ClickUp, monday.com or Notion, or Slack. On Pro and above, webhooks through Zapier, Make or n8n create each task in your tool as it is planned and close it when SearchOps sees the work done on Google.
Work the week wherever your team already does. Most tasks tick themselves off here once Google shows the change, wherever you did the work.

Plan your own weekThe join
What you did, next to what changed
Completed cards become markers on your Explore charts. That is a deliberately conservative join: work you finished is a fact worth showing next to the trend line, but a finding that merely stopped appearing is not, because a quiet crawl looks the same as a fixed problem. Only the first kind gets pinned.
Finished 2 Nov: Post on your Google profile every week
Sample chart. Each marker is a task someone finished; a finding that simply stopped appearing is never pinned.
Plan your own weekWhat it uses
What it costs
Tasks are included on every paid plan. They come from data your profiles, scans, audits and trackers have already collected, so planning and working the week uses none of your allowances.
- Creating, assigning and completing tasks use no allowance
- Sending the plan to email, a calendar, Slack or a CSV uses no allowance

Tasks FAQ
Questions we get
Not answered here? Contact us
- Why does one card sometimes cover many issues?
- Because a task is a unit of work. Twelve reviews waiting on a reply is one job, not twelve, so it lands as one task that names the scale of it. Splitting it would drown the week and hide the two tasks that actually matter.
- What happens to a card when the underlying problem is fixed?
- The next run of that tool notices the finding is gone and the card is reconciled automatically, so you are not closing cards by hand for work the data already proves is done. Cards you complete yourself stay completed and are the ones that get pinned to your Explore charts.
- Can I add work that did not come from a tool?
- Yes, and you should. Client calls, a monthly ranking review, a photo shoot for a Google profile: add them as tasks and they sit on that week's plan beside the rest, without counting against your pace.
- How do tasks relate to playbooks?
- Open Playbooks from the button at the top of the Tasks page. Starting a play loads its steps onto the location's plan in order; steps not yet unlocked wait in Up next. Ticking a step off in Tasks updates the play, and the other way round, so there is only ever one truth about what is done.
- We already plan in Asana or ClickUp. Do we have to work in SearchOps?
- No. Send the plan where you work: a Monday email, a private calendar link, a CSV for Asana, ClickUp, monday.com or Notion, or Slack. On Pro and above, webhooks through Zapier, Make or n8n can create each task in your tool as it is planned and close it when SearchOps sees the work done on Google.
- Can I show the work in a client report?
- Yes. The What we did block in Reports lists the tasks you finished, the posts and the notes for the period, beside the numbers that followed.
