Getting started
Customise your dashboard
Arrange dashboard widgets and focus the dashboard on a brand or location.
On this page
Your Dashboard is your at-a-glance home, the first thing you see at /dashboard. Shape it with widgets so the numbers you care about sit right at the top, ready when you log in.
What the dashboard shows by default
A fresh dashboard opens with five widgets. At a glance runs across the top with your headline number from each tool: Map Pack, web results, AI engines and reviews. Below it, Locations at a glance lists every location with its numbers and how they moved, beside Needs you, which has two tabs: To do, with anything urgent and the tasks worth doing next, and What changed, with the movement your tracking picked up and whether a task was added for it. At the bottom sit Rank trends and Profile results, which shows the calls, website clicks and direction requests your Google Business Profile brings in.
Until you are set up, the dashboard shows a Welcome to SearchOps checklist instead: add your business, pick your keywords, set your answer-engine coverage, see whether ChatGPT and Gemini name you, see where you rank on the map and connect your Google Business Profile. The full dashboard appears once you have run your first ChatGPT and Gemini check, and any steps left stay in the Getting started card in the sidebar. You can also skip the checklist and go straight to the dashboard. For the bigger picture of how the tools fit together, see What is SearchOps?.
The widgets you can add
While customising, select Add widget to open the library, grouped into categories:
- Overview: Needs you, At a glance, Locations at a glance, Credit balance, Locations, Total scans, Reviews tracked, Activity feed.
- Tracking: Rank trends, Visibility matrix, Google Search positions, Tracked keywords, Recent scans, AI Engine Visibility, ChatGPT visibility, Competitors.
- Reviews & GBP: Reviews, Profile audit scores, Profile results.
- Productivity: Action items, Upcoming schedules, Quick actions, Quick tips.
Each widget pulls live data from your account, so the moment you add one it fills with your real figures.
Focus on a brand or a location
If you track more than one location, a Showing bar sits above the widgets. Pick a brand or a single location and every widget narrows to it, from the headline to Locations at a glance and Needs you. Select Show everything to go back to all your locations. The choice is kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a focused view.
Add, remove and rearrange
Customising is quick and everything saves as you go.
- On the dashboard, select Customise (top right). It appears on a computer or tablet; on a phone the dashboard shows as a single column.
- Select Add widget to open the library, then choose the ones you want. Widgets already on your dashboard are marked so you do not add duplicates.
- To move a widget, drag it by its header. To resize it, drag the bottom-right corner.
- To remove a widget, use the remove control on its header while customising.
- Select Done when you are happy. To start fresh, select Reset and confirm with Reset layout to go back to the default five widgets.
Note: Your layout is saved to the browser you are using, not to your account. If you switch to another computer or browser, you will see the default layout there and can set it up again.
Tip: Keep the widgets you check daily near the top, so your first glance answers your first question.
Arrange a location's page
Each location's own page has a Customise button too, with the same Add widget, Reset and Done controls. One arrangement applies to every location you open, so your branches stay comparable. Like the dashboard, it is saved to the browser you are using.
Pair it with your Tasks
The Needs you widget's To do tab gathers what needs action across your tools, most urgent first. Urgent items can be snoozed or hidden for a location; tasks are snoozed or dismissed on the Tasks board. What changed lists movement, such as a keyword leaving the map pack, with a link to the task added for it when there is one. Select View on the widget to open Tasks and work through each item in order. Prefer a plain list of open tasks and scans? Add the Action items widget from the library. For how to clear and prioritise tasks, see Work your tasks.
