Keywords & rank tracking
Import keywords from Google Search Console
Connect Search Console and pull in the queries you already rank for.
On this page
Google Search Console knows the real queries people use to find you. Connecting it lets you import those terms straight into your keyword library, so you track what you already rank for instead of guessing.
What you'll need
- A paid plan. Connecting Search Console requires a paid plan.
- A Google account with access to the Search Console property for your website.
Connect Search Console
- Go to Keyword Research in the sidebar and select Add keywords.
- Choose the location the keywords belong to, pick the From Search Console card, then select Connect Search Console. Once a property is linked to the location, the card says which one.
- Sign in with the Google account that has access to the property and approve access.
- Choose the property that matches the website for this location.
The access is read-only. SearchOps reads your Search Analytics data and never changes anything in Search Console.
Note: This uses a standard, non-sensitive Google permission, so connecting is quick. It is separate from Google Analytics, which is a different integration.
Review and import
Once connected, SearchOps lists the queries your site appears for, with clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position. Each query is tagged by intent, so you can tell a money term from an informational one at a glance.
Your queries arrive already grouped into themes. Filter by Revenue likely, All queries, Informational or Branded, switch between Themes and All rows, or select Get recommendations to have the agent flag the themes worth tracking. Tick the ones you want and select Add keywords. Importing does not use your allowance, however many you bring in.
Tip: The best opportunities are usually queries with plenty of impressions but a weak average position. You already rank, just not high enough, so a small improvement can win real clicks.
Will a big import cost me anything?
No. There is no limit on how many keywords you track, and importing never uses your allowance. What uses it is checking: one keyword looked up is one rank check, and a keyword is checked once you put it on a rank-check schedule. If you import a lot, schedule the less important ones weekly rather than daily. See Rank checks explained.
