Links & listings
Analyse your links and listings (Links & Listings)
Links & Listings shows your backlinks, the sites that link to your website, checks each directory listing's name, address and phone against the right branch, finds where competitors are listed and you aren't, and which linking sites AI answers rely on.
On this page
Links & Listings looks at your website from the outside. It shows your backlinks, the sites that link to it, which of those are directories and review sites listing your business, whether each listing shows the right name, address and phone for the right branch, and which of those sites the AI answers for your keywords rely on.
Where Links & Listings lives
In the sidebar, open Analysis > Links & Listings (/dashboard/links-listings).
The page lists your websites, not your locations. If several branches share one website, they share one link profile, so they appear together on one card with their towns named. Each card shows how many sites link to that website, its authority, how many directories link to it, how many of its linking sites AI answers cite, and how its listings checked out.
Websites you have not analysed yet sit in a list underneath. Locations with no website on them can't be analysed until you add one.
Note: Links & Listings is available on paid plans. Each plan includes a number of analyses a month, shown at the top of the page, and they reset on the 1st.
Running an analysis
Click Analyse on a website, confirm, and the analysis usually finishes in under a minute. It covers every branch that uses the website, so there is nothing to run per branch.
To see how the website has changed, open it and click Run again. Each run is compared with the one before, so new and lost links show up.
The four tabs
Open a website to see its analysis.
Overview
- What links to it: the kinds of site linking to you, from directories and articles to other businesses, competitors and low quality sites.
- How strong those sites are: the authority of each linking site, from 0 to 100.
- What the links say: whether links use your name, your web address, words about your business, or generic text like "click here".
- When the links first appeared, by year.
- How much of it counts: the share of links that pass authority, and the share of linking sites that AI answers also cite.
Branches & listings
Every directory or listing page linking to your website is read and matched to the branch whose details it shows. Each listing gets one of these results:
- Details correct: the name, address and phone match that branch.
- Missing details: it is that branch's listing, but some details aren't shown.
- Wrong details: it is that branch's listing, and a detail is wrong. You see which field, what the listing shows, and what it should be.
- Matches none of your branches: the listing shows an address or phone that belongs to none of your branches. This is often an old address.
- Couldn't tell which branch or Couldn't read the page: the page didn't show enough, or blocked us.
Branches are listed with the ones needing most attention first. A branch with no listings found is still shown.
Tip: When two branches have the same name, the branch's street is added so you can tell them apart. A listing that only shows your brand name and a city with two of your branches in it is never guessed at.
For a website with one location, this tab is called Listings.
Where you're missing
- Answers cite these, they don't link to you: sites that AI answers for your keywords rely on, across all your branches, that don't link to your website.
- Linking to your competitors, not to you: directories and articles that link to the competitors you have compared, and not to you. The more competitors a site links to, the higher it sits.
- Major directories for your sector with no link to you: the main directories for your country and sector. Many directories list a business without linking to its website, so treat this as a list of places to check, not proof you're missing.
All linking sites
Every site linking to the website, with what it is, its authority, how often AI answers cite it, when it was first seen, and the competitors it appears with. Directory listings also show their branch and result. Filter by Cited by answers, Listings that link, Articles, Lost, Competitors or Low quality, or search by site or keyword.
Under the table, a short note explains how much of the link profile was looked at. A site with a very large profile is looked at strongest first. A link that simply fell below that depth is never counted as lost.
Comparing a competitor
On a website's page, type a competitor's website into Compare, or pick one of your tracked competitors. Their analysis appears next to yours in the bar at the top. Its headline number becomes Listed for them, not you: directories that link to them and not to you. That list also feeds Where you're missing.
Analyse your own website first. Without it there is nothing to compare against.
Good to know
- Low quality sites are scrapers, spam and link schemes. They rarely help, and they are rarely worth worrying about.
- A site marked Not identified yet is still being checked. The page fills in on its own, with nothing to run again.
- Listings that don't link to your website can't be seen by this check. Use Where you're missing as a list of places to look.
