A Merchynt alternative where every post and edit waits for your approval
Paige, from Merchynt, is built to do the work for you: it writes posts, replies to reviews and optimises Google Business Profiles on full autopilot or after you approve, at $99 a profile each month. SearchOps is built for teams that want to sign off every change and then measure what it did. Profile edits wait for a yes and can be undone, and the Pro plan connects up to 25 profiles for $99 a month.
The short answer
SearchOps or Merchynt?
SearchOps fits if
- You want a person on your team to publish every post and approve every profile edit before it reaches Google, with an undo if a change turns out wrong.
- You want to measure the results yourself: Google Maps, the local pack, AI Overviews and AI Mode on the same grid points, and ChatGPT and Gemini checked by service with the businesses named instead of you.
- You look after several profiles and want one plan price rather than a fee for each: Pro connects up to 25 for $99 a month.
Merchynt fits if
- You want the work done for you: Paige writes and publishes posts, replies to reviews and updates profiles on full autopilot, or asks first if you prefer.
- You want the same subscription to share posts to Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, publish videos to YouTube and TikTok, and build or tune the business's website.
- You want review requests by SMS, email or WhatsApp, NFC review cards, or citation building at partner rates.
Using both
A team could keep Paige on the posting and social work for a few profiles and use SearchOps to measure the results on its own grids and in ChatGPT and Gemini answers.

Price the job
Three Business Profiles, priced both ways
A business owner or small agency runs three Google Business Profiles. It tracks five keywords on each with a 13×13 Google Maps grid once a month, the grid Paige uses in its client reports, and it posts and replies to reviews. Change the numbers to price your own case.
SearchOps
$99a month
The Pro plan.
12,000 scan credits a month cover 2,535 points, leaving 9,465 for Google Search or AI Mode grids. Up to 50 locations.
Merchynt
$297a month
Paige, 3 × $99 a location, billed monthly.
Merchynt prices Paige at $99 for each Google Business Profile, so the price moves with the number of profiles, not with grids or keywords. From 10 profiles it prices on request, and it says partner pricing gets cheaper as you add clients.
- The two prices pay for different things. Paige's includes the work itself: it writes and publishes the posts and replies, shares to social networks and builds a website. SearchOps' covers the measurement and the tools, and your team approves and publishes the work, with agent drafts for review replies.
- SearchOps Pro includes 3,000 ChatGPT and Gemini checks a month, and its spare scan credits run Google Search and AI Mode grids. Paige includes a monthly report on whether six AI assistants recommend the business.
- Both are monthly list prices as each company publishes them. Pro is for one user, so more than one team member or white-label reports means SearchOps Agency at $249. Merchynt's citation add-on ($40 a profile) and its optional $100 Agency Partner Program aren't included.
- SearchOps' prices here are the US dollar prices on its pricing page (£29, £79 and £199 a month in pounds). Checkout shows the exact amount in your currency.
What's different
What SearchOps does differently
Approve, then publish
Every profile change waits for a yes, and can be taken back
In SearchOps you pick the change, whether that is new hours, a category, a service or a photo, and it reaches Google only once it is approved. If you change your mind, undo it. If someone edited that field on Google in the meantime, SearchOps holds your change back rather than overwrite theirs. Posts go out when you publish or schedule them, and review replies arrive as agent drafts for you to edit and send.
- Approval before anything reaches Google
- Undo any edit made from SearchOps
- Auto-reply only for 4★ and 5★ reviews, and only if you switch it on

Measurement first
Choose the surface and the timing, from Google Maps to Gemini
Paige sends a Google Maps heatmap with its monthly report. SearchOps lets you choose what to check and how often: Google Maps positions, the local pack and AI Overviews on Google Search, or whether AI Mode names you, all on the same points and on a daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly schedule. Alongside the grids, prompts grouped by service go to ChatGPT and Gemini, and each answer shows who was named instead and which sites it cited.
- Grids up to 21×21, and AI Mode up to 9×9 in the US, UK and India
- 3,000 ChatGPT and Gemini checks a month on Pro
- Share of voice for AI answers, never a position
One point on a 7×7 grid
- Google MapsPosition 3 of the top 20
- Google SearchIn the local pack's top 3. AI Overview shown, cites the clinic.
- AI ModeNamed in the answer
Audits against rivals
Score a profile, and see where up to five rivals are ahead
The Business Profile audit runs about 30 checks, each with its points shown, then scores up to five competitors from the latest Google Maps scan out of 100, on the checks their public listings show, so a client can see where a rival's profile is ahead of theirs. It sits beside the grids, which helps when a client asks why a rival wins in one part of town.
- About 30 checks, each with its points shown
- Up to five rivals scored out of 100
- A public link to share an audit with a client
Profile audit against rivals
- Larkfield Dental Clinic82/100
- Rival practice A74/100
- Rival practice B69/100
About 30 checks for the business; rivals are scored on what their public listings show.
Client reports
Reports that tell a real gain from normal run-to-run movement
Grid results shift a little from one run to the next even when nothing has changed. SearchOps marks a gain or a drop only when it is bigger than that shift, and turns a real gain into a verified before and after that the client can open and check. Reports come from eight templates or a layout of your own, and can be emailed on a schedule.
- Eight report templates, or your own layout of up to 50 blocks
- Report emails on a schedule
- White-label reports and your own report address on Agency

When Merchynt fits better
Where Merchynt is the better choice
Paige is designed to take the work off your hands, and it covers jobs SearchOps leaves out. If these matter most to you, Merchynt is the stronger fit.
Full autopilot
Paige can write and publish posts, reply to reviews, upload photos and update profiles without anyone approving each step, or ask first when you want it to. SearchOps always leaves posting and profile edits to a person.
Social posting from one place
Paige shares posts to Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn and publishes short videos to YouTube and TikTok. SearchOps posts to Google Business Profiles only.
Citations at partner rates
Paige's citation add-on lists a business on 62 directories and the main data aggregators for $40 a profile a month, or $20 for Agency Partner Program members. SearchOps checks listings but doesn't create them.
Collecting reviews
Paige asks customers for reviews by SMS, email or WhatsApp, with a review link, QR codes and follow-ups, and Merchynt also offers NFC review cards. SearchOps monitors reviews and drafts replies, but doesn't send requests.
Website work in the same agent
Paige builds and hosts a multi-page website for each business, or scans the existing site and lists what to fix. SearchOps doesn't build or audit websites.
Switching
Moving from Merchynt
Moving across is mostly setup, plus one decision: who now writes and publishes the posts that Paige has been doing for you.
- 01
Write down what Paige tracks
For each profile, list the keywords Paige tracks (up to 10 each) and the competitors its reports name, in a spreadsheet if you can. Keep the last monthly report as your baseline.
- 02
Add locations in bulk
Upload your locations to SearchOps as a CSV file, and each one is matched to its Google listing.
- 03
Import keywords by service
Paste the keywords or import them from Excel or CSV, grouped under the services each business sells.
- 04
Connect the profiles you post to
Sign in with Google to connect the Business Profiles you manage: up to 25 on Pro and 100 on Agency. Posting and replying need a connected profile; tracking a rival doesn't.
- 05
Decide who does the posting
Paige may have been posting every week and sharing to social networks. In SearchOps your team writes and schedules posts and approves review replies, so agree who owns that work before you switch Paige off.
- 06
Plan for the website and citations
If a business uses the website Paige built and hosts, decide where it will live before you cancel. Merchynt's listings page says the citations it creates stay yours when you move on.
- 07
Run both for a month, then cancel
Run a SearchOps grid on the same keywords alongside Paige's next monthly heatmap and compare the trend, not single points: the two tools place points and run at different times. Merchynt's terms say a subscription renews each billing period until you cancel, in the app or by email.
