A Localo alternative with bigger grids and AI answers
Localo shows UK visitors its prices in pounds: Single Business is £29 a month, and SearchOps Starter is £29. So the useful question is what that money measures. Localo tracks up to 10 keywords per profile on a Google Maps grid of up to 49 points, updated weekly, which is at most 2,124 map points a month; Starter gives you 4,500 scan credits a month for any keywords, grids up to 15×15 on three Google surfaces, and 600 ChatGPT and Gemini checks.
The short answer
SearchOps or Localo?
SearchOps fits if
- You want grids bigger than 49 points: up to 15×15 on Starter and 21×21 on Pro and Agency, with as many keywords as your scan credits cover.
- You want each grid point to show more than a Google Maps position: whether you are in the local pack's top three, whether an AI Overview appears and cites you, and whether AI Mode names you.
- You need to know whether ChatGPT and Gemini name the business, or you watch Trustpilot and Tripadvisor reviews beside Google's.
Localo fits if
- You post to a Facebook Page as well as the Business Profile, or want a one-page website built from the profile and kept in step with it.
- You want suggested edits to a profile reversed automatically, and a record of reviews Google has removed.
- You want the app in Polish, German, Spanish, French or Brazilian Portuguese as well as English.
- You manage 10 to 30 profiles and price matters most, or you want a 14-day trial with no card and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Using both
If you rely on Localo for Facebook posts or the websites it builds from profiles, you can keep it for those and run bigger grids, Google's AI answers and ChatGPT and Gemini checks in SearchOps.

Price the job
Ten profiles, priced in pounds
A freelancer or small agency manages 10 Business Profiles, tracks five keywords each on a 7×7 grid every week, posts to the profiles and replies to reviews. The grid sizes and schedule below are the ones both products can run. Change the numbers to price your own case.
SearchOps
£79a month
The Pro plan.
12,000 scan credits a month cover 10,617 points, leaving 1,383 for Google Search or AI Mode grids. Up to 50 locations.
Localo
£49a month
Pro 10, one plan price, billed monthly.
Localo prices by the number of profiles. Every plan tracks up to 10 keywords per profile on up to 49 points, weekly, so within those limits its price doesn't change with grid size or keywords.
- Localo Pro 10 gives all 10 profiles rank tracking, posts and reviews, and gives 5 of them its optimisation tools: the audit, Smart Tasks, competitor tracking, the citations manager and the AI chat assistant.
- SearchOps Pro's price includes 3,000 ChatGPT and Gemini checks a month, and spare scan credits run Google Search and AI Mode grids. We found no AI answer tracking on Localo's pages.
- Both are monthly prices in pounds, as each pricing page shows a UK visitor. Localo's page doesn't say whether VAT is added. Both sell annual plans for less; this compares monthly prices.
- SearchOps' prices here are the pound prices on its pricing page. Checkout shows the exact amount in your currency.
What's different
What SearchOps does differently
Bigger maps, three surfaces
Cover a whole service area, then see Google's AI answers at the same points
Localo's tracker publishes grids of 9 to 49 points. SearchOps Starter runs grids up to 15×15, 225 points, and Pro up to 21×21, so a town-wide service area keeps its detail out to the edges. Run the same grid on Google Search and each point shows whether you are in the local pack's top three and whether an AI Overview appears and cites you. Run it on AI Mode and each point shows whether Google's AI answer names you.
- Google Maps: one scan credit a point, positions out of the top 20
- Google Search and AI Mode: two credits a point
- AI Mode grids up to 9×9 in the US, UK and India
One point on a 7×7 grid
- Google MapsPosition 3 of the top 20
- Google SearchIn the local pack's top 3. AI Overview shown, cites the clinic.
- AI ModeNamed in the answer
ChatGPT and Gemini
Find out whether AI assistants name the business, service by service
Write prompts under each service the business sells, and every prompt goes to both ChatGPT and Gemini, weekly, every two weeks or monthly. Each answer shows whether the business is named, which businesses are named instead and which sites the answer cites. Share of voice adds that up across the prompts, so you can see which services are seen and which aren't.
- 600 checks a month on Starter, 3,000 on Pro
- Named or not named, never a position
- The sites each answer cites, gathered across every prompt
One prompt, two engines
"Which dentist in Leeds can see me today for a broken tooth?"
- ChatGPTNamedalongside 2 other practices
- GeminiNot namednames 3 others instead
Sites cited across both answers: the clinic's own site, a review site and a local directory.
Reviews beyond Google
Watch Trustpilot and Tripadvisor beside Google reviews
Google reviews arrive on every plan, and the agent drafts a reply to each one for you to edit and send. On Pro and Agency, SearchOps also monitors Trustpilot and Tripadvisor, so a hotel, restaurant or online shop sees those reviews next to Google's, tagged by topic. Replies go to Google only.
- Agent drafts for every Google review
- Trustpilot and Tripadvisor on Pro and Agency
- Webhooks for new and negative reviews on Pro and Agency
A new review, with a reply ready
★★★★on Google, 2 hours ago
"Seen quickly for a cracked filling. Parking was tricky."
Agent draft
"Thank you for coming in at short notice. We're sorry about parking; the pay and display on Larkfield Road is the closest. See you at your check-up."
Proof for clients
Show a client a verified before and after, not a lucky week
Map positions move between runs even when nothing has changed. SearchOps only calls a change a gain or a drop when it is bigger than a keyword's normal movement, and turns a real gain into a verified before and after picture your client can check. It can sit in a scheduled report, in your own branding on Agency.
- Gains and drops judged against normal movement
- Verified before and after pictures on every paid plan
- Eight report templates and scheduled report emails
Before and after, one keyword

After

When Localo fits better
Where Localo is the better choice
Localo includes tools SearchOps doesn't offer, and it costs less for 10 to 30 profiles. If these matter most to you, it is the better fit.
A lower price for 10 to 30 profiles
Localo Pro 10 is £49 a month and Pro 30 is £109. For the same weekly tracking with posts and review replies, SearchOps is £79 on Pro for 10 profiles and £199 on Agency for 30.
Facebook, and a website from the profile
Localo publishes posts and offers to a Facebook Page as well as to Google, and its website builder turns each Business Profile into a one-page website that it hosts and keeps up to date. SearchOps posts to Google only and doesn't build websites.
Removed reviews and a review poster
Localo keeps a record of reviews Google has removed, so you can ask Google to restore them, and makes a poster with a QR code that asks customers for a review. SearchOps monitors reviews and drafts replies, but doesn't ask customers for reviews.
The app in six languages
Localo's interface comes in English, Polish, German, Spanish, French and Brazilian Portuguese, and its support team works in English, Polish, French and German. SearchOps is in English.
A trial, then a money-back guarantee
Localo offers 14 days with no card, then a 30-day money-back guarantee from the first payment. SearchOps has a live demo on a sample business, and sets up trials for agencies on request.
Switching
Moving from Localo
Localo tracks up to 10 keywords per profile, so there is little to carry across. Most of the work is connecting profiles and choosing what else to track.
- 01
Note what you track
List each profile's keywords and the centre and size of its search area, in a spreadsheet if you can.
- 02
Add locations in bulk
Upload the locations to SearchOps as a CSV file, and SearchOps finds each one's Google listing.
- 03
Group keywords by service
Paste the keywords or import them from Excel or CSV, under the services each business sells. SearchOps has no keyword limit, only scan credits, so you can add searches that didn't fit before.
- 04
Connect the profiles you post to
Sign in with Google to connect the Business Profiles you manage. Rivals and prospects can be tracked without connecting anything.
- 05
Run both for one reporting cycle
Localo reads each grid cell from one fixed point at a fixed zoom, and SearchOps places and times its points in its own way, so single points rarely agree. Compare the trend over a few weeks rather than point against point.
- 06
Before you cancel
Localo renews automatically on your billing date. After you cancel, its help centre says the plan runs to the end of the period and your account and data are kept. If a client's profile links to a website made with Localo's website builder, check with Localo what happens to it first.
